Horst Heldt to Become Union Berlin's New Sporting Director

Former Bundesliga Executive to Join Club in Summer

Experienced Manager to Lead Union Berlin's Sporting Operations

Berlin, Germany - Union Berlin has announced the appointment of Horst Heldt as its new Sporting Director, effective next season. The experienced Bundesliga executive will join the club in the summer and will be responsible for overseeing all sporting operations.

Heldt, 53, is a former midfielder who played for several clubs in the Bundesliga, including Eintracht Frankfurt, VfB Stuttgart, and Bayern Munich. After retiring from playing, he moved into management and served as General Manager of Stuttgart from 2006 to 2010 and Schalke 04 from 2010 to 2016.

"We are delighted to have secured the services of Horst Heldt," said Union Berlin President Dirk Zingler. "He is a highly experienced and successful manager who has a proven track record in the Bundesliga. We are confident that he will help us continue to build on our recent successes and take the club to the next level."

Heldt expressed his excitement about joining Union Berlin. "I am very happy to be joining Union Berlin," he said. "The club has a great tradition and a passionate fan base. I am looking forward to working with the team and the staff to help the club achieve its goals."
